Initium is Latin for "the beginning." My transition from learning the basics of light to mastering the split-second capture of an aircraft in flight is built on relentless refinement. Even with honed instincts, every great image starts at the fundamentals. Every shot is a new beginning.

I'm BENSON SIM, the photographer behind Initium. My decade in military aviation ingrained a deep appreciation for capturing high-speed, split-second moments, but I'm just as fascinated by the quiet resilience of wildlife and the depths of our oceans. I'm always looking for the next challenge, and the next visionary team to build something incredible with.

Great photography happens when intuition meets technical mastery. I approach my work with a deep appreciation for the engineering behind the lens. Understanding how to push sensor capabilities, autofocus systems, and glass to their absolute limits, no matter the environment. From the split-second demands of high-speed aviation to the low-light challenges of underwater diving, I'm passionate about the tools that make visual storytelling possible.
