FROM THE FRONT LINE

My story behind the viewfinder truly began in 2014. I stepped into the role of Assistant Media Specialist for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), and what started as an assignment quickly became a lifelong passion.

For over ten years, I’ve had the distinct privilege of being the bridge between the front line and the public. Whether it’s the deafening roar of a fighter jet taking off or the quiet, focused intensity of a technician on the tarmac, I’ve treated every assignment with the same level of fire and dedication.

My work with the RSAF has taken me far beyond a standard office:

• The Heat of Action: Capturing high-octane maneuvers during overseas exercises.
• The Heart of Service: Documenting critical Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions where every frame tells a story of hope and recovery.
• The Pulse of the Nation: Covering major media events that bring the RSAF’s mission into the homes of Singaporeans.

I don’t just "take photos." I aim to deliver content that makes the viewer feel the adrenaline of the exercise and the weight of the mission.

THE UNENDING PURSUIT

I believe that mastery is a moving target, which is why I’m constantly pushing myself from the patient, split-second discipline required for wildlife photography to the meticulous composition and timing of expansive landscapes. Every day is a new chance to sharpen my eye and refine my technique, ensuring I never settle for "good enough."

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been the community. The peers and friends I’ve met along the way haven't just been colleagues; they’ve been the keys to unlocking new perspectives and unique opportunities. These relationships led me to join the official photography teams for the National Day Parade (NDP), documenting the pride and spirit of our nation from the ground, water and the sky.

Being featured in exhibitions and recognized by industry giants like Canon Singapore is incredibly humbling, but in my mind, the work is never "done". Every time I look through the viewfinder, I see a new lesson to be learned. I’m still out there every week, refining my craft, because I believe the most important photo I’ll ever take is the one I’m going to take tomorrow.

THE COLLECTIVE VOICE

While I still find immense joy behind the lens, I’ve realized that the knowledge, network, and experience I’ve gathered over the last 14 years are most valuable when shared. My focus has shifted toward building a home for the photography community in Singapore, a place where photography meets the heart of human connection.

I believe that we grow faster when we grow together. To make this a reality, I’ve dedicated myself to creating spaces that promote learning, growth, and most importantly, genuine friendship. Whether we are discussing technical gear or sharing stories from the field, the goal is always to keep the spirit of photography fun and accessible.

My Telegram group is more than just a chat, it’s a living testament to the positivity within our local scene. I am committed to putting in the effort every day to make this community better, stronger, and more supportive. My hope is to continue spreading this positivity even further, proving that in a world of solo creators, there is incredible power in a collective voice.

I may have spent a decade publishing my work, but I believe my greatest contribution is yet to come: helping the next generation of storytellers find their own light.
